Price Chopper Gets Tech Savvy

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets is exploring new forms of technology, and is asking its customers for input.

“We want to know more about how our customers are using the latest technology,” Price Chopper writes on its Facebook page.

Price Chopper states that it’s using Instagram, a photo sharing application. It then asks its Facebook fans what apps they use. Thumb and Pinterest are among the responses.

The retailer also asks shoppers to take an online survey about how they use smart phones and social media.

Among the questions:

  • Have you ever used your smartphone while shopping in a store, as a tool for getting product information, downloading coupons, comparing prices, or making payments?
  • What would encourage you to interact with us more on Price Chopper Supermarkets' Facebook page?
  • Do you participate in online social gaming like Farmville or Words with Friends?
