TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Reasor's Supermarkets here has presented a $10,000 check to Oklahoma Chapter 1 Blue Star Mothers, a non-profit organization dedicated to the mothers of men and women serving in the U.S. military. The Oklahoma chapter's primary goal is sending gift boxes to troops currently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The money was raised during Reasor's annual "Scoops for Troops" fund-raising event on July 10. Customers who made a $1 donation were given an ice cream and root beer float. Reasor's provided additional funding to bring the grand total donation to $10,000, which was presented to the group during a ceremony on Friday at the company's Lynn Lane location in Broken Arrow.

"This event wouldn't be possible without the generous donations from our customers," said Jeff Reasor, CEO. "We really just want to say thank you to everyone who came out to show support for our troops."
