Retailers project a slight increase in sales for 2010, compared with 2009, according to a survey released Tuesday.

Total sales for the year will be up about 1.95% over last year, the Retail Compass survey by accounting and consulting firm BDO USA projected. The telephone survey of 100 retail chief financial officers found that 47% projected revenue increases this year, 30% projected flat sales and 21% projected a decrease in sales.
