To Russia, With Data Synchronization

CHICAGO — Extending their use of the Global Data Synchronization Network from the U.S., U.K., Germany and other countries, Kraft Foods, Nestlé and Procter & Gamble announced yesterday that they are synchronizing item data with German-based retailer Metro Group in Russia.

The companies are leveraging the GDSN connections of two major GDSN data-pool providers: 1SYNC here for Kraft, Nestlé and P&G, and SA2 Worldsync for Metro Group.

“By synchronizing product data with Metro Group in Russia, we are able to get real-time inventory updates from Metro’s stores in the region,” said Janna Kouchina, director of sales, Kraft Foods Russia, in a statement. “This gives us the ability to get our products to the store shelf faster. We hope that more retailers will adopt this process, giving us the ability to experience similar benefits across our supply chain globally.”
