Safeway Donates Portion of Sales to Schools

Safeway here is donating 10% of select purchases to local schools as part of its annual 10% Goes Back to Schools promotion.

PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway here is donating 10% of select purchases to local schools as part of its annual 10% Goes Back to Schools promotion.

Ten percent of participating product purchases made through Sept. 15 with a Club Card will be tallied throughout the promotion. More than 2,000 eligible items including O Organics Juice Boxes, Mott’s Apple Sauce and Glad Zipper Bags are highlighted in-store with yellow school bus tags.

For three weeks beginning Sept. 18, a redemption code will be printed at the bottom of participating shoppers' receipts. They must visit escrip.com before Oct. 13 to select the school of their choice, and enter the redemption code to make their donation.

Shoppers can also give the bottom of their receipt with the redemption code directly to the school they've selected. Schools must register to receive donations.

The 200 schools receiving the most donations will get an additional $1,000. Safeway shoppers have raised $11 million for schools through the program.
