Shoppers Can Pay Household Bills in Any Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart Stores has implemented the CheckFreePay service from Fiserv, Brookfield, Wis., enabling customers to pay bills in person at all Wal-Mart locations in the United States.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores here has implemented the CheckFreePay service from Fiserv, Brookfield, Wis., enabling customers to pay bills in person at all Wal-Mart locations in the United States.

The service allows customers to pay household bills, such as their utility, mobile phone, auto loan, insurance and credit card bills, at any one of the retailer's 3,755 domestic locations, including Wal-Mart SuperCenters and Neighborhood Markets. Payments can be made at the Wal-Mart MoneyCenter or customer service desk using cash or a pin-based debit card.

Standard payments are delivered to the biller within three business days, and "NextDay" payments are delivered to the biller on the next business day.

"Offering our customers the convenience of walk-in bill payments helps them simplify the management of their day-to-day finances," said Jane Thompson, president of Wal-Mart Financial Services, in a statement.
