COMMERCE, Calif. — Smart & Final Stores here selected workforce management systems from Kronos, Chelmsford, Mass. The retailer, which operates approximately 293 retail stores across western U.S. and northern Mexico, plans to use the integrated time-and-attendance and employee scheduling systems for approximately 6,000 employees.
The technology, which aligns labor to demand, will also be used to enforce work and pay rules across all stores.
The systems are expected to "further boost productivity to enhance the in-store customer experience" as well as "help us control labor costs and minimize compliance risks," said Dave Baker, director of store labor management systems for Smart & Final, in a statement.
