SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Stater Bros. Holdings here said earnings rose and sales declined for the fiscal third quarter and the 39-week year-to-date period, which ended June 28.

Net income for the 13-week quarter rose 64.1% to $15.1 million while sales dropped 0.43% to $928.6 million and like-store sales, excluding the shift of the Easter holiday from last year's second quarter, declined 1.8%.
