Students to Compete in Case Analysis at NGA

ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Grocers Association here said its 2011 annual convention in February will feature the first-ever Food Industry University Coalition Student Industry Case Competition.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Grocers Association here said its 2011 annual convention in February will feature the first-ever Food Industry University Coalition Student Industry Case Competition.

Students who attend the NGA meeting will have an opportunity to work in teams to analyze a real world retail business challenge, make a presentation and answer questions posed by a panel of industry judges. Prizes will include a $5,000 scholarship to the winning school; a $3,000 scholarship to the winning team; and a $1,000 scholarship to the runner-up team.

In addition, the winning team will be allowed to present its analysis at one of the meeting's educational workshops, NGA said.

The annual NGA convention and supermarket synergy showcase is scheduled for Feb. 13-16 in Las Vegas.
