Walgreens Fills Printer Cartridges for Free

Walgreens refilled inkjet printer cartridges for free yesterday at over 3,000 stores, the drug chain reported.

DEERFIELD, Ill. – Walgreens refilled inkjet printer cartridges for free yesterday at over 3,000 stores, the drug chain reported. This was part of a rollout of the service to 4,500 stores by the end of the year. The offer applied to color or black-and-white cartridges, one to a customer. It applied to a variety of manufacturers, but excluded Canon and Epson. Prices are usually $10 for black-and-white and $15 for color. “In this tight economy, this is a great opportunity for people to save money on costly ink cartridges and do something good for the environment at the same time,” said John Sugrue, Walgreens’ photofinishing general merchandise manager. “Since we launched this service, our customers have kept millions of cartridges out of landfills.”
