ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans Food Markets here is hosting various events to celebrate Mother's Day this weekend.
This Saturday, all stores will be holding cake-decorating events, where decorators can select basic Wegmans' Ultimate Chocolate or vanilla with buttercream frosting cakes. The cakes can be decorated in the store, or a cake with a decorating kit is also available to take home. Times, prices and locations for in-store decorating vary.
The retailer will also be holding tea parties for children at select locations and times. At these events, kids can sip tea and juice while making a special gift or decorating a dessert to share with their moms.
Another tea party event will be held at the Wegmans Menu Cooking School for children aged 3-11. There, for $25 per parent-child team, kids can serve their moms fruit tarts and wraps they've made together, and make "Tussie-Mussie" bouquets for their moms to take home.
