AUSTIN, Texas — Whole Foods Market has rolled out a selection of socially responsible holiday food and nonfood gifts that range from handmade Nepalese felted wool ornaments to organic cotton peace scarves. According to the company, the gifts, with retails in the $5, $10 and $20 range, help preserve the health of the earth’s resources and its people. The holiday merchandise is promoted through a Holiday Gift Guide and identified on the shelf with a small green heart.

This eco-label, which many of our gift selections bear, means that products meet our strict criteria for ethical trade, eco-friendly farming and quality,” said Jessica Johnson, Whole Foods’ whole trade guarantee specialist, in a statement.
