GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Meijer has put a spin on back-to-school marketing this season by challenging contestants to create virtual pinboards on Pinterest.
To enter, shoppers must follow Meijer Stores on Pinterest and create a virtual pinboard called “Sharp Looks by (your name).” Next, contestants should express their personal tastes by pinning images from the Meijer Dorm Décor Pinterest board or taking pictures in-store to create their ideal dorm room, including at least eight Meijer products. Two hashtags should be included with every pin: #MeijerDormDecor and #DormDecor.

Once the board is complete, participants should post a link to the board under the dorm décor contest pin on the Meijer Dorm Décor Pinterest board. Six dorm decor winners will receive a $200 Meijer gift card and the chance to take part in Meijer’s back-to-school dorm décor features. Finalists will also have a chance to win a $500 grand prize.
Meijer is hosting a similar contest that calls for shoppers to create pinboards with back-to-school apparel.
