BURBANK, Calif. — Nearly 75 years after his theatrical debut, Popeye the Sailor will star in the cartoons that first made him famous on DVD from Warner Home Video here. “Popeye The Sailor 1933-1938, Volume 1” includes 60 original and unedited theatrical shorts created by the legendary Max Fleischer and includes more than nine hours of cartoons. The DVD will be supported with a rebate promotion on 5.8 million Allen's Popeye-brand Spinach cans that will include a $5 rebate on the Popeye DVD. A national media campaign will include TV, print, online and radio advertising.

SAVE THE T-SHIRT

EXTON, Pa. — This summer, Endust here will embark on its first TV advertising campaign in nine years in an effort to drive trial of its new dry, disposable Endust Dust Cloths. The campaign, called “Long Live the T-Shirt” and targeted at women 29 to 49 years old, invites consumers to stop using their T-shirts for dusting their homes and shows how the dust cloths are designed to be more convenient. The campaign will air through January 2008 on national cable networks. Each box of disposable cloths will retail at $4.19.

MOVING MUSIC

CINCINNATI — Duracell, owned by Procter & Gamble here, is promoting ways to enjoy music on the go this summer. Duracell is sponsoring the “Power of Portability” promotion in which consumers can take advantage of special retail offers with daily chances to instantly win a variety of portable music devices via the Duracell website through July. As part of the promotion, MP3-player-optimized earbud headphones will be included in specially marked Duracell CopperTop packs.
