NATICK, Mass. -- BJ's Wholesale Club here voluntarily recalled its pre-packaged mushrooms after possible trace amounts of E. coli bacteria were found in routine inspection test results. The possibly contaminated mushrooms were supplied by Kennett Square, Pa.-based Kaolin Mushroom Farms, according to published reports. Although BJ's has not yet received any reports of illnesses, the company removed from sale all potentially affected products, including five different SKUs of Wellsley Farms pre-packaged fresh mushrooms purchased between Feb. 11 and Feb. 13, as a precaution. Final test results should be known by the end of next week, said John Pia, owner of Kaolin Mushroom Farms, according to a published report.
