Online Company Rolls Out Vegetarian Meal Delivery Service

ST. LOUIS -- A start-up company here is preparing exclusively vegetarian, chef-prepared meals for delivery anywhere in the United States. My Green Bistro, launched this month by entrepreneur Bryan Lawrence, takes orders online at www.MyGreenBistro.com for such gourmet fare as roasted vegetable stuffed sweet onion, with saffron couscous salad, and pappardelle noodles with roasted broccoli and peppers. Prices range from $9.50 to $12.50 per meal, plus second-day or overnight delivery charges. Prepared here in a central kitchen, individual components are vacuum-packed in pouches and put through a blast freezer. Lawrence, a vegetarian, told SN he hopes to show people that a vegetarian diet can include more exciting things than granola and bare tofu. Lawrence has had experience launching natural food markets in Australia and has worked in sales and marketing for beverage companies here. -- Roseanne Harper
