Relay Foods launches meal planning service

Online retailer Relay Foods has added free customizable meal planning tools to its website.

Meal Planning by Relay Foods includes: a weekly seasonal menu developed by a registered dietitian; a catalog of recipes searchable by ingredients or dietary needs; and the retailer’s Cook It! Chrome extension, which allows users to create shopping lists based on recipes from around the web.

Users add an entire recipe to their shopping cart and can then swap out ingredients or remove items they already have.

The retailer said meals cost from $4 to $8 per serving.

"We challenged ourselves to build the most flexible start-to-finish meal planning service on the market today by focusing on one key element — putting the shopper in the driver's seat," Zach Buckner, founder and CEO of RelayFoods.com, Charlottesville, Va., said in a press release. "By combining the inspiration of weekly plans with the flexibility of the Cook It! tool, we make it easy for customers to quickly build plans completely tailored to their schedules, budgets, and tastes. This combination of simplicity, personalization, and seamless delivery of ingredients is unprecedented in both online and in-store grocery shopping history."
