Retailers respond to record beef prices

When grilling season got underway last spring, beef prices continued to climb and retailers made some quick marketing decisions.

Some ran two-day steak specials at a lowered price, or turned the spotlight on other meat categories. Others trimmed their margins and rode out the storm until costs began to level off.
