Utilizing thick wooden beams and stone, the new Brodheadsville, Pa., ShopRite takes design cues from Cabela’s, the popular sporting goods retailer.
The new store has a dedicated area for customers to retrieve orders placed with the "ShopRite from Home" Internet and mobile shopping app.
The lobby welcomes shoppers to “the World’s Largest ShopRite,” at 95,000 square feet.
The store is co-branded as Kinsley’s Family Market, which joined the Wakefern cooperative 14 years ago.
The store was designed to meet strict environmental standards including energy efficient refrigeration.
The store includes a Mediterranean bar with olives and beans.
Antiques are on display all over the store: Here, vintage cash registers and Coke displays sit above a produce cooler.
A grab-and-go buffet serves a growing demand for ready-to-eat meals.
“Mr. K has Gone Bananas”: A produce display illustrates the store’s quirky charm.
Doris’s Café, located above the selling floor, is named for Doris Kinsley, whose son, daughter and grandchildren work for the company today.
Doris’s Café includes a lounge, fireplace and large-screen television.
