HOBOKEN, N.J. — Inserra Supermarkets staged a grand reopening of its ShopRite store here on Feb. 9 after it was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy last October. The reopening happened to coincide with the arrival of Winter Storm Nemo, which dumped about a foot of snow on the area. Still, shoppers were lined up outside in anticipation of the grand reopening, a spokeswoman for Wakefern Food Corp., the co-op to which Inserra belongs, told SN. Inserra took the opportunity of the hurricane damage to implement a redesign of the store incorporating several green technologies to reduce energy use, including glass doors on all dairy and freezer cases, LED and T-8 lighting, environmentally friendly refrigerant systems and a storewide energy reduction system.
