Schnucks to host kids cooking camp

Schnucks is offering a Summer Kids Cooking Camp for children ages 5 to 12, with themes such as Hawaiian Luaus, Intergalactic Treats and Wizard-Worthy Meals.

The camp will run May 31 through Aug. 5, and participants are given the option of registering for individual or week-long morning and afternoon sessions.

Classes ranging from $25-$35 per session to $125-$175 for a full week pass, will be held at two locations.

“Kids will discover the full food exploration experience in these classes, whether they take one or several classes or a full session. They will not only learn how to cook by following a recipe, but will also learn how to shop for nutritious foods, work with kitchen equipment, and participate in activities all focused around making food fun,” said Kara Belhke, registered dietitian and camp developer, in a statement. “Nurturing a child’s interest and understanding in healthy eating and preparation at an early age is a long term investment in living a healthful lifestyle.”
