According to FMI, the awards recognize exceptional supermarket managers who generate sales growth, provide great customer service, contribute to attaining company goals and play an integral part of their communities.

The association announced a new social media award this year — called “People’s Pick” — in which the nominee who receives the most “likes” on the FMI Facebook page will receive $500.

The nominees are:

Brian Hayes, manager of a Super Saver in Lincoln, Neb.

Elizabeth Haywood, manager at the People’s Food Cooperative in Rochester, Minn.
