While several segments benefited from healthier living, one category even benefited from environmental changes. Global warming has led to higher pollen counts and increased prevalence of allergies. This led people to seek over-the-counter medicines for help. This could be part of the reason why the cold/allergy/sinus category increased 6.7% in supermarket dollar sales to $771 mil
