BOSTON — Supermarket pharmacy executives from across the country joined their counterparts from other channels here recently for the Pharmacy & Technology Conference of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Alexandria, Va. The event attracted 2,700 attendees and exhibitors, making it the largest of all pharmacy-and-technology conferences, NACDS reported. A total of 156 retail companies were on the scene, representing over 60,000 retail outlets with $191 billion in annual sales for prescription drugs, over-the-counter and home health care products and services. The conference featured a robust and varied educational program, an active exhibit floor, a “Meet the Rx Market” opportunity for one-to-one interactions and social occasions like the opening reception pictured here.
