Artisan Promotes 'Buy One, Get One'
SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Artisan Home Entertainment here has begun a consumer advertising campaign to promote its "Buy One, Get One" event. Consumers can receive one of nine bonus titles from Artisan when they buy a specially marked catalog title. The offer applies to both VHS and DVD.
The nine titles offered in the program are: "Basic Instinct," "Dirty Dancing," "Red Heat," "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," "Stargate," "Rambo: First Blood," "Rambo: First Blood, Part II," "Reservoir Dogs" and "Universal Soldier."
Movie Ads to Carry More Rating Data
LOS ANGELES -- Movie promotions will carry more information about ratings next year, it was reported. The Motion Pictures Association of America and the National Association of Theater Owners, both based here, have agreed on a policy that would add brief explanations to the existing ratings, such as "for excessive nudity" or "for cartoon violence."
The policy, which is expected to apply to home video as well, was approved during a NATO board meeting earlier this month. Newspaper ads, billboards and point-of-sale materials will include the new information. "
