Berndt said he will stay in the baking industry in some capacity, but his plans are uncertain at this time.

Hannaford Taps Category Manager

SCARBOROUGH, Maine -- David Duley has been named bakery category manager for Hannaford Bros. here.

He succeeds Rob Doehler, who left the company to start his own brokerage and consulting firm. Duley joined Hannaford Bros. 10 years ago as a retail management trainee. Most recently, he was bakery specialist.

He has been succeeded in that post by Marla LeBlanc, who has been with the firm seven years. She was a perishables manager at store level.

In his new post, Duley reports to Dan Bowen, director of deli/bakery for the 120-unit chain. LeBlanc reports to Duley.

Dough Delight Names Manager

CONCORD, Ontario -- Dough Delight here has named Kenneth Burke sales manager for the Northeastern U.S., a new position.

He joins the company from Rich Products, Buffalo, N.Y., where he was Eastern zone manager for the bakery and deli division. He had been with Rich for 15 years.

In his new post, Burke reports to Michael Beer, general sales manager, United States.
