s here has named Patrick Steele senior vice president of information systems and technology, a new position. He was group vice president of management information systems.
Kash n' Karry Names Manager
TAMPA, Fla. -- Kash n' Karry Food Stores here has named Denise Matthys systems development manager. Matthys, formerly an information engineer at Kash n' Karry, reports to Bonnie Van Overbeke, vice president of MIS.
Matthys succeeds Jim Stikeleather who held the title of director of development, new architecture. Stikeleather left the chain last month to work as a consultant.
Nielsen Appoints Unit President
NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- Nielsen here, a Dun & Bradstreet subsidiary, has appointed David Flaschen president and chief operating officer of Nielsen Marketing Research North America. He was vice president of software development at Intercontinental Medical Statistics, also a Dun & Bradstreet subsidiary, based in London. Flaschen succeeds George Garrick, who returned to Information Resources Inc. to be president and chief executive officer of the North American division. Garrick had left IRI for the Nielsen post this past summer.
Also, Richard Derr was appointed senior vice president of software development for the Dun & Bradstreet Marketing Information Services division, a new position. Derr was president of Nielsen information services.
President Is Named by NCH
LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- NCH Promotional Services here has named Diana Bourke president. She succeeds Robert Lievense, who is now senior vice president of New York-based Dun & Bradstreet and chairman of Reuben H. Donnelley, D&B's information services segment.
Bourke was senior vice president of information and operations services at NCH.
Advanced Promotional Taps VP
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- Advanced Promotional Technologies here has named Richard Brenner vice president of marketing, a new position. Brenner's former position was marketing director of the Personal Care Products division of Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati. Advanced Promotional Technologies markets an interactive, multimedia, point-of-sale marketing system for supermarkets.
Catalina Electronic Appoints VP
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Catalina Electronic Clearing Services here has named Robert Hemphill vice president of technology, a new position. Hemphill was vice president of electronic services at Randall's Food Markets, Houston. Founded in September, CECS in involved in developing electronic coupon-clearing services.
EMARC Names Chief Executive
GREENWICH, Conn. -- David Venghaus has been named chief executive officer of EMARC, an electronic marketing and retail communications company that specializes in in-store electronic advertising and promotion. Venghaus was chairman and chief executive officer of New York City-based Bergelt Litchfield, an advertising firm.
Venghaus succeeds Steve Kahler, former president and CEO. Kahler is now a consultant for the company.
