EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- Ecce Panis has named Angelo Fraggos president of the artisan bread company, replacing Russell Chapman, who resigned to pursue outside interests. Fraggos, a food industry veteran with 25 years' experience, was most recently vice president of sales and marketing for New World Pasta, a leading dry pasta manufacturer of brands including Ronzoni, San Giorgio, Creamette, Skinner Prince and American Beauty. Among his responsibilities is development of new programs designed for supermarket in-store bakeries, using consumer research, innovation and overall quality and product improvement. Privately owned, Ecce Panis has moved out of the retail and fresh-baked business over the last year and a half to concentrate on the high-growth par-baked market. As part of the shift, the company reorganized its management team and focused on 16 premium products to gain production efficiencies, according to company officials.
