"The biggest benefit for us is that it gets us into another type of frozen bakery product. Hazelwood Farms' heritage has been built on frozen dough products and this enables us to offer customers parbaked products, too," said a Hazelwood Farms spokesman.
For the end user, the attractiveness of the parbaked product is the labor savings gained because it doesn't need to be proofed, he explained.
Kerry Smith, president of Signature Breads, will continue in his post as president and has also been named a vice president and member of the senior leadership team of Hazelwood Farms.
