'Making of Jurassic Park' Offered

Universal Home Video here will release "The Making of Jurassic Park" on videocassette May 9, at a suggested retail of $9.98. Hosted by James Earl Jones, the cassette prebooks on April 25.

Also, MCA/Universal will release three movie collections on May 23: Alfred Hitchcock, Francis the Talking Mule and Clint Eastwood. Order close for each series is May 10. In the Alfred Hitchcock collection, MCA/Universal will repromote 14 classic titles, including "Psycho," "Rear Window" and "Vertigo."

The Francis the Talking Mule collection features "Francis Goes to West Point," "Francis Covers the Big Town" and "Francis in the Haunted House." The Clint Eastwood series offers seven films, including "Coogan's Bluff" and "High Plains Drifter." Suggested retail for each title in all three collections is $14.98.

Also from MCA/Universal, "Junior," starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, will be released on videocassette June 6. Order close is May 23.

Discovery Plans Home Videos

BETHESDA, Md. -- Home videos will be developed by Discovery Pictures here, a new division of Discovery Communications, the parent company of the Discovery Channel.

Discovery Pictures will produce feature-length, family-oriented, nonfiction films. It will also develop a wide range of other products, including CD-ROMs and interactive programs. The new division will concentrate on nature films and strong narrative story lines. Its first theatrical release, "The Leopard Son," is scheduled for the spring of 1996.

Pay-per-View Window Extended

BURBANK, Calif. -- Buena Vista Home Video here is extending pay-per-view windows as much as 120 days on several upcoming Miramax Home Entertainment titles. "Heavenly Creatures," which prebooks May 11 and streets May 23, will have a 101-day extended pay-per-view window; "Ready to Wear" and "Camilla," both of which will be released this summer, will have a 60-day and 120-day window, respectively.

'Paradise' to Be Found in May

CENTURY CITY, Calif. -- FoxVideo here will release "Trapped in Paradise" on home video on May 2. Starring Nicolas Cage, Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz, the movie began pre-orders on April 11. Also from FoxVideo, the 1954 movie "Woman's World" will be released for the first time on May 3, at a suggested retail of $19.98. The comedy/drama stars Clifton Webb and June Allyson, among others. Pre-order began April 7.

"Baby Take a Bow," starring Shirley Temple, also will be available on May 3. Filmed in 1934, the film is in color for the first time, at a suggested retail of $14.98. Pre-order began April 7.

'Richie Rich' Plays on May 23

BURBANK, Calif. -- Warner Home Video here will release "Richie Rich," starring Macaulay Culkin, on video May 23. It will have a suggested retail of $22.96. Order deadline is April 19.

Also from Warner, "500 Nations" will be released on May 30. The eight-volume video collection takes a comprehensive look at life in North America before the arrival of Europeans, and follows the epic struggles of the Indian nations. Each volume sells at a suggested retail of $19.95.

'Hoop' Bounces to Video April 25

LOS ANGELES -- New Line Home Video here will release "Hoop Dreams" on April 25. The movie is the true life story of Arthur Agee and William Gates. Order date began April 11.

Hopkins in TriStar Release

CULVER CITY, Calif. -- Columbia TriStar Home Video here debuts "Legends of the Fall" on Home video May 31. The movie stars Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Aidan Quinn. Order date is May 9.

Also from Columbia, "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" will be released on May 9. Order date began April 18.
