Odor Removal Spray Introduced
amble here has created yet another new product category -- odor removal.
Unlike traditional aerosol, solid and powdered air fresheners and deodorizers that simply mask odors with perfumes, Febreze is a pump-spray deodorizer which uses a patented process to absorb odor molecules as it dries on fabric, eliminating the odor in the process. It also affords retailers the chance to merchandise fabric care items in other areas of the store, such as the baby care or pet aisles.
After running a two-year test in Phoenix, Tucson, Salt Lake City and Boise, where over a half-million consumers tried the product, P&G has rolled Febreze out nationally to some 85,000 stores. .
Febreze is available in regular strength for clothing and extra strength for upholstery, carpets, cars and boats. A 3.4-ounce portable size retails for about $1.50, while the 17-ounce bottle retails for around $3, and the 1-liter bottle sells for around $5.
