Products Manufacturers Association will hold its 44th annual Pet Products Trade Show this week at the McCormick Place Convention Center, in Chicago.

Nearly 600 exhibitors in more than 1,500 booths will showcase innovative pet products to the most inclusive audience of buyers in APPMA history. With over 400 new product launches and 150 companies new to the marketplace, buyers have the opportunity to see the most comprehensive display of what the pet products industry has to offer.

In addition, the APPMA Show 2002 will open its doors to independent retailers, making it the largest gathering of buyers, pet product manufacturers, and international attendees in the U.S.

Multipet Distributes

PAWS 'N MORE

PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- Hasbro here has named Multipet International as the distributor for the company's PAWS 'N MORE line of pet toy and care products.

Under the agreement, Multipet will be responsible for selling the product line to a wide range of retail outlets and distribution channels, including grocery stores, mass merchandisers, pet superstores and specialty stores, drug stores and catalog/mail order outlets.

The product line includes Tonka for Dogs -- a line of toys such as the Squeaker Truck, Construction Boot and Tools.

Sergeant's Expands Vetscription

OMAHA, Neb. -- Sergeant's Pet Care Products has expanded its Vetscription line of health treatment products with the addition of Antimicrobial Medicated Shampoo and an Antimicrobial Wound Cream.

Both products are sold over-the-counter at major grocery stores and discount outlets throughout the U.S. Both are available in easy-grip bottles. The cream, in a 4-ounce pump, absorbs into the animal's skin, protecting from secondary infections. The shampoo works on "hot spots," the company said.
