aid total revenues for the 12-week quarter rose 0.2% to $934.8 million, while net earnings were $1.2 million, compared with a loss of $2.9 million in last year's first quarter. Prior-year results were affected by an extraordinary net charge of $5.6 million related to debt refinancing, the company noted.

Operating cash flow for the quarter fell 14.7% to $18.6 million, or 2% of sales, compared with $21.8 million, or 2.3% of sales, a year ago.
