SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Big Y began free distribution this month of Going Green, a Biy Y-branded magazine designed to help shoppers make lifestyle choices that will benefit the environment and themselves.
The magazine is available to shoppers at all 56 store locations throughout central and western Massachusetts and Connecticut.
“It seems like everyone is becoming environmentally conscious these days,” said Donald D’Amour, Big Y’s chief executive officer, in a press release. “We all strive to conserve, reuse and recycle when we can. But it can be really difficult to know exactly what you can do to try and make a difference.”
The April 2009 publication includes information on money saving tips to help save the planet, reusing and recycling odd items, a guide to eco-friendly purchases, water conservation, clean air and ways to green your diet. The 37-page publication also includes $350 worth of coupon savings.
