Pittsburgh Penn Traffic Workers Ratify New Deal

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 23 members who work for Penn Traffic have ratified a new three-year agreement, the union said Friday.

PITTSBURGH — United Food and Commercial Workers Local 23 members who work for Penn Traffic have ratified a new three-year agreement, the union here said Friday. Workers from 11 corporate stores and several independents under the Bi-Lo and Quality Foods banners voted Thursday by a four-to-one margin to approve the deal. The contract increases full-time employee wages by $1.20 per hour, the union said, while part-time employees will receive hourly increases of between 90 cents and $1.20. Employee health benefits will remain intact. The pact also calls for most employees to get additional personal days and sick days.
