Stater to Raise Funds for California Parks

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Stater Bros. Supermarkets here said it is partnering with Coca-Cola Refreshments and the California State Parks system for the third year in a row to raise funds for parks in Southern California.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Stater Bros. Supermarkets [2] here said it is partnering with Coca-Cola Refreshments and the California State Parks system for the third year in a row to raise funds for parks in Southern California.

Stater said the six-week campaign hopes to raise at least $750,000 to help provide forest preservation, trail maintenance, habitat preservation and beach cleanups across 750,000 acres of parklands.

The campaign encourages shoppers to make a $1 tax-deductible donation to the "Preserve Our Parks" campaign at Stater Bros. checkstands through April 26; additionally, Coca-Cola Refreshments will donate $1 when consumers purchase $10 worth of participating Coca-Cola products at Stater.

The partnerships raised $1.2 million for state parks over the past two years, enabling the planting of 1 million trees damaged by wildfires and supporting beach cleanup and dune restoration.
