The DVD features 15 cartoons from the “Garfield & Friends” television series, handpicked by Garfield creator Jim Davis. Garfield lovers can get the DVD with a collectible Ty Inc. Pooky beanie mini-plush that is exclusive to the DVD for $14.98. It is also available without the plush for the same price. Prebook is Aug. 8. The DVD will be supported by a marketing campaign that includes grass-roots and online outreach. A publicity program is also in place.
NEW YORK — Classic Media is launching an expanded licensing, merchandising and marketing campaign for its classic Underdog character. New Underdog products including toys, video games and pet accessories will begin to roll out to retail this summer, the company said. The product expansion is timed to match the premiere of the Disney, Burbank, Calif., “Underdog” feature film this month and the release of “The Ultimate Underdog Collection Vols. 1-3,” on July 24 from Genius Products, Santa Monica, Calif. The DVD release will be supported by in-store programs, and a national print and online advertising campaign. A classic Underdog website is also scheduled to launch this month.
