LAKELAND, Fla. — The free generic antibiotics program announced by Publix Super Markets Monday was reported to have marked the end of its price-matching policy on Wal-Mart Stores’ $4 generic prescription deal, but Publix told SN yesterday that it never had a price-matching policy. Publix is now offering a selection of seven generic antibiotics for free at a 14-day supply. “The antibiotics program is the only official prescription program we offer. We can’t be all things to all people,” Brous said.
