Key Food Converts Two C-Towns

NEW YORK — Key Food Stores Co-Operative here on Wednesday said it plans grand openings Friday for two Key Fresh & Natural stores in the borough of Queens.

The stores, located in Jamaica and Springfield Gardens, are former C-Town stores converted by owner Rolando Abreu.

Key Fresh & Natural stores emphasize perishable departments tailored to neighborhood tastes, Key Food officials said. Both stores will have large deli, meat and produce departments. They will also offer free parking, an ATM, and will accept phone orders for free delivery with a minimum $40 purchase. The Jamaica location will also offer senior citizens a 10% discount on Wednesdays, as well as feature a fresh seafood department.

“I strive to continually serve my customers as best I can,” Abreu said in a statement. “I care a great deal about the community and bringing Key Fresh & Natural to our neighborhood will offer customers the highest quality available.”

Key Food has stores under several different banners in the New York area, including Key Food, Key Food Marketplace, Food Dynasty and Food World. It began using the Key Fresh & Natural banner a few years ago and today operates five locations under that name.
