BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores  here on Monday said its board of directors has named Timothy P. Flynn, retired chairman of KPMG International, as a new board member at the global retailer.
Flynn, 55, is the company’s 17th board member and will also serve on the company’s audit committee. He spent 32 years at KPMG, including serving as international chairman from 2007 until his retirement in October 2011.

“Throughout his career, Tim has demonstrated a level of professionalism and personal integrity that is synonymous with our values at Wal-Mart,” said Rob Walton, Wal-Mart’s chairman. “He’s a talented leader whose global insights, strategic vision and expertise in business strategy and governance will be a valuable addition to our company.”
