CHICAGO — The Macy’s in this city’s Loop district is close to landing a supermarket tenant for its lower level, according to reports. The location, which replaced the landmark Marshall Fields department store, would have about 20,000 square feet for the supermarket, the reports said. Macy’s reportedly had talks with Supervalu’s Sunflower Market about opening in the location, and are now considering other organic/natural or upscale food retailers. A supermarket partner could be named by early next year, according to the Chicago Tribune. Macy’s could not be reached for comment.
