CHARLOTTE — Harris Teeter here this week launched an upgraded version of its HT Mobile smartphone application, which builds upon the capabilities of its existing platform while adding new features to make the application more user-friendly and accessible for shoppers (see the video below).
Harris Teeter launched its first version of HT Mobile a year ago. The newest version improves only the visual aspects of the application but the technology behind it as well, the company said.
The new application gives shoppers access to personalized e-VIC specials and favorites, the ability to save e-VIC coupons, bar code scanning technology and auto complete search capabilities. An enhanced store locator adds GPS technology and driving directions. Shoppers can view their shopping lists offline, and integrate them with their desktop shopping list. The application will also provide text message notification and ability to pre-order subs and sliced meats and cheeses, in select stores.
Harris Teeter added that it would continue to add new features including a recipe function that allows shoppers to choose a specific recipe through that will then automatically populate the shopping list.
