Although Roche Bros.’ flagship Boston store won’t open until spring 2015, the retailer is already lining up customers with a daily outdoor farm stand.
Through the end of October, Roche Bros. will set up tents with produce, flowers and baked goods for sale outside the future downtown location. The farm stand is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
When it opens, the store will be the first large-scale grocery to serve the area’s growing residential base. It is located on the site of the former Filene’s Basement department store.
A new Mariano’s store opened earlier this month also features a seasonal outdoor “farmers’ market.”
