Fresh Food Prices Low Now, Set to Rise in 2013

WASHINGTON — Right now prices are comparatively low across many fresh food categories, such as produce and eggs, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index. However, due to the drought and other factors the U.S. Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service predicts fresh food prices will see strong inflation going into 2013.
