PARK RIDGE, N.J. — A&P is scheduled to host the grand opening today of the newest incarnation of its “Fresh” format at a remodeled store here. The location features 17 distinct “specialty food shops” around the perimeter of the store, including special sections for cheese, chocolate and artisan breads. The format is a blend of American and European design, the Montvale, N.J.-based company said. “In and around our full range of grocery products, we’ve put together a neighborhood of shops under one roof,” said Eric Claus, A&P president and chief executive officer, in a prepared release. “These are not just departments — they’re fully stocked specialty shops offering the finest fresh foods and complementary products.”
