FMI Foundation Plans Midwinter Dinners

ARLINGTON, Va. — The Food Marketing Institute Foundation, the not-for profit organization affiliated with FMI, plans to hold its annual fund-raising dinners at the FMI Midwinter Executive Conference beginning in 2013, subsequent to the inaugural dinner later this month at the FMI Show in Dallas.

The dinner will displace the annual Friends of the Industry dinner, which has been held in conjunction with the Midwinter conference for the past 13 years. As previously reported, FMI will begin co-locating its top-level executive conference with the Grocery Manufacturers Association conference beginning in 2013.

The 2013 FMI Foundation Dinner is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 21, in Phoenix.

“Moving forward, we decided FMI Midwinter was the best location to have that FMI Foundation annual event," Cathy Polley, vice president of health and wellness at FMI and executive director of the FMI Foundation, told SN. “With FMI and GMA coming together, Monday night really was the only time available for that Foundation dinner, and unfortunately that means that the Friends dinner does not have a location at Midwinter."
