Memphis Kroger Workers Ink New Labor Deals

MEMPHIS — More than 9,000 workers at Kroger stores in the retailer’s Delta Division here have voted to ratify new labor agreements, the Cincinnati-based company said.

The two contracts cover 80 Kroger stores in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Kentucky. Workers were represented by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1529. Contract terms were not disclosed.

"We are pleased to reach an agreement that is good for our associates and allows us to be competitive in the region," Tim Brown, president of Kroger's Delta Division, said in a statement. "I want to thank our associates for their patience during the negotiations process. I am grateful to work with a dedicated and professional team committed to serving our customers with excellence.”
