LUBBOCK, Texas — United Supermarkets LLC here said Thursday it is in the process of expanding the United Express fuel kiosks at two locations to become walk-in convenience stores.
The remodelings are expected to be completed by Memorial Day.
Each project will expand the existing fuel station to approximately 370 square feet, with walk-in access on two sides, offering customers the opportunity to purchase convenience items, including fresh coffee, iced tea, breakfast burritos, milk, bottled water, soda, candy, gum and various grab-and-go snacks. Hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The company said the projects are part of a multi-year effort to expand the United's convenience offerings at existing fuel locations.
The United Express banner also includes five free-standing, full-service convenience stores, with two more locations under construction in Borger and Dumas, Texas, and two future locations planned in Amarillo and Hereford, Texas.
