United Natural, Whole Foods Extend Supply Deal

DAYVILLE, Conn. - United Natural Foods here in January will become the primary supplier for Whole Foods stores in Southern California, Southern Nevada and Arizona, adding around $100 million in additional annual sales for United Natural, the distributor here said yesterday. The addition of Whole Foods‘ Southern Pacific region supplements the seven-year distribution deal between United and Whole Foods announced last month. For the fiscal first quarter ended Oct. 28, United reported net income of $12.4 million, or 29 cents per share, on sales of $646.4 million. Sales increased by 12.3%, United said.
