Wal-Mart Donates $100,000 to Kansas Tornado Relief

Wal-Mart Stores here said Friday it will donate $100,000 to assist with recovery efforts in Greensburg, Kan., following the impact of tornadoes that hit there earlier this month.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores here said Friday it will donate $100,000 to assist with recovery efforts in Greensburg, Kan., following the impact of tornadoes that hit there earlier this month. The company said its contribution, from the Wal-Mart & Sam's Club Foundation, will encompass $80,000 to the American Red Cross and $20,000 to The Salvation Army. In addition to the cash contributions, Wal-Mart stores in the Greensburg area have been donating water, diapers and other life-sustaining products, the company said, and customers visiting Wal-Mart stores throughout Kansas have also provided nearly $20,000 in donations to assist with relief efforts.
